A worn-down house with a slouching roof and sagging, moss-covered walls in Valleki, once the home of the Wachter family. The Watchers, Nikolai and Karl, lived here with their mean-looking mother, Fiona, before she was killed and the house burned down by a mob. We found the body of Nikolaj in the upstairs bedroom.

The downstairs of the house contained a servants' quarters, a sitting room furnished with portraits of the family, an ornate dining room, and a kitchen and storage room.

The upstairs opened to a balcony decorated with mirrors and portraits, leading to bedrooms and a library containing eight black cats and biographies, bestiaries, novels, and historical, theological, and heretical texts. Percy stole three books from here; one on Strahd von Zarovich, one on Mother Night, and one on demons.

Next to the library was the bedroom of a young woman in her 20s. Her bed had leather straps on it but she was found sleeping in the corner. South of her bedroom was Nikolai's room. East of the stairs was Fiona's. Percy hid a bloody shirt of Izek's and one of his dolls in her closet in order to frame her for his death.
