A figure connected to tales of the curse on Barovia. In some sources she seems to be interchangeable with Baba Lysaga, a magical being associated with dark powers and myths of unnatural life.

Some of her iconography can be found in the windmill.

It is said that she made a deal with a young woman who helped Strahd in his domain many years ago when he was young, but it is unknown what became of her.

Muriel Vinshaw told us that Mother Night is just a fairy tale, and that she had once heard a story from her parents about how Mother Night got upset and left, and then Strahd came in and banished the gods.

The Watchers told us that she "is not an enemy" of Strahd, and is possibly at the root of what is happening in the land, although they do not believe in any curse.

Madame Eva directly said that the curse did not come from her.
