A family living in Valleki who claims noble descent, "in a way." Their predecessors were once rivals of the Dilisnya family. Fiona, the mother, was killed by Dren, Gale, and Percy, while Nikolaj, the father, was Reincarnated by Bellerand. The sons, Nikolai and Karl, call themselves the Watchers and defy the Baron regularly. They have a sister who has seemingly been hidden away since her teenage years and has possibly gone insane.

The family resided in the Wachterhaus until it was burned down by an unruly mob instigated by Percy after Strahd's attack on the town. The current whereabouts of the family, outside of Nikolaj and Fiona, are unknown.
