In the left wall of the library, there is a seam. It leads to a very dark room full of dust and cobwebs. Percy recognizes that there may be access to the room with the arcane lock so Gale goes through. Inside is a small dusty room with a scaly arm rising through the floor, clutching a small box made of bone.
Bell reveals the details of his faerie map to the party -- a room with more amber blocks, and a hall with something about the wall that the faeries were excited about. a room with a collapse. more upstairs.
Downstairs off the left to the main room: arched hall 20 ft high. reflections in amber glazed walls that wave arms and scream silent warnings to us. it is illusion magic. around the corner, amber coats vaulted 25 ft ceiling and wall. black marble floor. recessed into the walls at 5 ft high, amber ledges. on one ledge, a life-sized alabaster statue of a cat, then a snake coiled, and a raven. they don't seem magic to percy but with an arcana check he assumes they are all representations of familiars.
down the hall to north: 3 amber sarcophagi, one in the middle broken. 4 nothics inside. one says in undercommon: "I told the little one that I know that he left his favorite friend." dren asks: who are you, why are you here? "I will tell you the secret of that sword for a price -- return it to me" we kill them instead. percy takes one of their eyes.
east sarcophagus: small dark orb. percy gains khirad, the star of secrets. can now cast scry as an action 3x but cannot speak above a whisper. His smile becomes cruel and evil (lol).
west sarcophagus: white fleck. heat starts to leave hands. clear voice: do you wish to accept the gift of delban, the star of ice and hate? percy tries in secret to convince bell to take it but he doesn't.
nothics: former wizards that are driven mad in quests for forbidden lore. can pry secrets out of people.
a room with an arcane lock to the west: we hearth through. the floor is black and red marble. 3 more sarcophagi. dren is first to exit the ethereal plane and is immediately attacked. percy banishes the creature.
north sarc: in the shape of an eye but completely black. melodic, smooth voice: "i am yrrga, the eye of shadows: see all things". percy feels warmth like a familial touch and caring. 30 days - has true sight to 60 ft. gains the flaw: you believe that all life is pointless and look forward to death when it finally comes. His eyes become starry voids. He prestidigitates them to appear normal, causing the burn marks on his hands to become visible.
Percy cries for a little while and then takes out his library scroll and learns it is a Scroll of Blindness and Deafness.
west sarc: brutish voice: yog the invincible, physical resilience
east sarc: the great taar haak: strength
Next rooms: former bed chamber.
at the south of the hallway, another sarcophagi room.
west: norganas, life into undeath
south: quick and lilty voice: vaund the evasive: gift of evasion. gale takes it.
(10 days - you are hidden from divination magic. You can't be targeted by such magic or perceived through magical scrying sensors. when you fail a dexterity saving throw, you can use your reaction to succeed on that saving throw instead. The beneficiary of this dark gift becomes twitchy and nervous, and also gains the following flaw: “I can’t give a straight answer to any question put to me.”)
east: low and dark voice: seriach, protection, the hound whisperer. gale takes it. (Can summon two hellhounds [only once]. The beneficiary gains the ability to speak and understand Infernal, if he or she doesn’t already know the language. [The hell hounds understand no other language.] Sulfurous smoke issues from the beneficiary’s pores whenever he or she speaks Infernal.)
While resting in the library, Percy used his truesight to read the "empty" books and discovered that every spell in existence is in the library. He reveals his void eyes to Bell and tells him that he can read all the books now.
The weird mural and carvings in the library appear no different with truesight, nor do the items in the sarcophagi.
