Bell gives Percy scroll of Wall of Fire and Dren his Potion of Invulnerability.
Destroyed statue - nothing special, just a wizard
east hallway - north: collapsed into rubble; south: voices in common. 3 old ladies in tattered clothes with brooms - we kill them. the magic leaves their brooms.
percy confronts gale about the infernal and warns him of the cost.
through the south door (ladies door) arcane locked.
rough hewn shaft in the middle of the ceilings. red marble floor.
sargophagi:
west: raspy voice. dark gift of fekre, queen of poxes
east: sykane, the soul hungerer
south: crisp, booming voice. zrin-hala, the howling storm.
southeast room: also arcane locked. blue marble floor.
south: warm, welcoming, pleasant voice: dark gift of shami-amourae, the lady of delights. gale takes it. cast Suggestion as an Action 3x. saves against it have disadvantage. in between thumb and forefinger, a sixth finger grows on each hand. flaw: i can't get enough pleasure. i desire others to create beauty for me at all times.
north: Savnok the Inscrutible, the power to shield your mind
east: Tarakamedes, the Grave Wyrm
northeast room: old bedroom. golden hawks on corner posts on bed. arcane sigils on walls. percy does not recognize them. gale steals the hawks.
north room: decrepit room, giant construct made of iron. not magic. doesn't respond to touch or voice.
south door off of main hall: arcane locked. we go through via ethereal. very dark. a crypt of some kind. ledges in the walls contain skeletons. in the center, an iron candelabra. gale opens the door with Knock and Percy props it open with the golden skull. the candlesticks ignite as we enter in the material plane. some of the skeletons or parts of them seem coated in amber. when touched with Mage Hand, parts disintegrate from age. to the right, the niches are empty and the candles do not light.
Bell raises 3 skeletons, Percy says the amber was probably there to prevent such a thing but Bell explains their souls aren't there anymore
Dren shares what Brand told him about Exethanter and Percy surmises that he is probably a lich, and the bone box could be his phylactery.
2nd floor east hallway: arched coridor with arrow slits. cracked floor.
east room: descending rows of red marble benches, lit by copper lanterns. obsidian lectern. remnants of slate chalk board. person hiding behind it. small bug/faerie like critter: creepy claws, long ears, and tail with it. asks us if "the gigantic thing patrolling" is dead yet. his face is half burned or scarred. giant amber golem. he will tell us all he knows if we can retrieve his dead master's things. had a staff and a spell book, in the hall across from here. seems to be bell's ice staff. he is with the wizard's guild. bell gives him food. has an upsidedown V golden amulet that is hidden under his clothes and magical. percy spooks him into giving it up.
bell: where are you from? name? not from here per se; name is vilinus.
b: did the vistani bring you? don't know.
he knows how to get to valleki.
bell gives him longstrider and he leaves.
Gale and Percy test the amulet on the shield guardian and it works.
the northern room has another amber hawk golem. we kill it.
north of the balcony, a room in ruins. empty alcoves. broken statue. a secret door. leads to a dusty corridor that turns to the east and goes downward. heavy with the stench of death. leads down to the collapsed hallway downstairs. through a doorway, more sarcophagi and 7 feral humanoids with third eyes, blinded by cataracts.
north: offer of drizlash, the nine-eyed spider
east: dahlver-nar, he of the many teeth offers a gift
south: powerful and enchanting voice, zantras, the kingmaker, the gift of becoming king - bell, percy, and gale take it. +4 CHA, but you won't take no for an answer.
we return to the bone hand room. the bone box is magical. percy mage hands it open. carved along the inside are arcane sigils inscribed in silver, and an amorphous, pulsing energy. percy returns to the library and tells the group it's a phylactery. the group debates what to do. brand says the world is always better without evil.
