Bell made a sporebie out of the mummy in the child-sized sarcophagus.

Bell and Percy experimented with small amber chunks. Magical attacks can affect it but the Meld into Stone spell cannot. Prestidigitating a color inside the amber works. It cannot hold magic in the sense that a scroll can.

Percy places his hands on the amber and says, "I shall do it." Inside of the amber flickers briefly. Hands feel singed. Burned dot on the inside of his palms. He Prestidigitates them away.

Percy feeds the statue 40 more gold (total 61) from the chest in the treasure room.

--- NEXT DAY ---
Party wakes up and Dren is gone. Bell is going to search in spider form -- Percy tells him to check the model room where Gale hid when he disappeared. Bell finds him there, studying the Ravenloft model. Bell casts Hallucinatory Terrain on the room and creates a peaceful grove. Percy assumes that something is drawing people to the room but Dren is really just being emo.

Bell inspects the amber pillars. The southern one feels nefarious and the warmth seems to drain from his hands. He hears the message from the eastern pillar about Zhudun. In his mind, he says yes. His body morphs and he looks dead.
gift - Can touch the remains of a dead creature and restore it to life. Identical to Resurrection but no time limit. Can only be used once.

Percy goes downstairs and sees weird corpse Bell. Bell tells him what happened and Percy reminds him of the Horseman card from Madame Eva's tarokka fortune. He and Bell share their desire for power and agree to keep certain secrets from the others. Percy tells him that he may ask for Bell's help in the future, and Bell must keep it secret.

Percy speaks to his patron and makes a deal to get his soul back in exchange for one more innocent. He briefly mentions perhaps offering "the van Helsing that you really want," and the patron warns him of making deals with multiple dark powers. Percy is saucy about it and shuts the book.

--- DAY 3 ---
Strahd tome exerpt: "I was looking at dead men. Before another hour passed, I'd send them wailing on their way to rotting hell. All of them." Chapter 7

We divvy up the gold in the chest. Percy takes 40 less than the others. He feeds 20 more gold to the statue. Small details begin to form in the seal. 20 more (101 total) - seal: detailed, realistic skull in the center, surrounded by teardrop shapes. The imagery and seal often used to denote Bhaal, commonly referred to as the Lord of Murder. Generally feared as Faerunian god of violence and ritualistic murder. Technically a quasi-diety. He is not necessarily likely to care about Percy's efforts. Percy wrapped the statue in two bags from Dren.

Strahd tome exerpt: "Dreams are for the living." Chapter 6

Strahd tome exerpt: "Same voice, same face, same graceful body, she was Tatyana come back to life again. I was absolutely witless from astonishment." Chapter 3

Strahd tome exerpt: "By day or night, stretching up to the limits of vision, the edges of my realm are marked by a great wall of mist. I was there at its birth." Chapter 14

Strahd tome exerpt: "The wolves began to howl. They knew me. All the wolves of Barovia did." Chapter 15

Percy gradually begins to nuture the growing power lust in Bell.

--- DAY 4 ---
Percy and Bell work on the empty books and scrolls. Percy thinks True Seeing might help, or perhaps there is a command word. Bell casts Dispel Magic - the book begins to disintegrate and rapidly ages ~1000 years.
