Strange druids have been performing rituals with the gems of life that are said to keep Barovia fertile. We killed one with a powerful staff at the Wizard of Wines, and later encountered a wild figure on all fours in the road to Krezk, accompanied by twig blights, who scattered after the figure was killed.

Percy tried to phonetically copy down the druids' language but Bell could not interpret it.

Muriel Vinshaw told us that the druids often repeat the phrase, "He is the ancient, he is the land." She said that she hasn't personally witnessed any interactions between the druids and Strahd von Zarovich, but feels like they must be connected.
