A genealogical book in the Baron's library indicates that the land upon which the Wizard of Wines sits once belonged to them, before it passed to the Martikovs by marriage. Martikov tradition says that the land was bequeathed to their ancestor by Strahd in return for a favor to him, but there is no known connection between the Krezkovs and the vampire.
