Lightning ball out of nowhere, probably from statue. Large Statue face: Magical Darkness. Percy can see nothing inside.
- small seam in the back of the statue - handle pops out and opens door. I Mage Hand it open.
- inside: small carved staircase winds up and around - 3ft wide. Magical Darkness inside. Bell Dispels it. Gale and Percy go inside in E.Plane. Gale sees old man in wizard robes with long white beard in M.Plane.

What is protected here? - clearly you don't know the God of Secrets

How long have you been here? - don't know
More than one great evil here. 3, 6, 9, maybe 24?
we seek to cleanse the land of at least one of these evils - i don't leave the temple. i watch the evils.
strahd? - that's the evil outside. i watch the evils inside.
what evils? - don't need to name it. just keeping it inside.
mother night? - there is a secret room upstairs through the feast room. go through the skulls and there you'll meet a man that perhaps has answers. He disappears.

Upstairs - Bell finds a staff on a burned body. Large, almost crystal with leather wrapping. On picking up, Bell feels overwhelming desire for power - he recognizes it, is probably an imprint of the previous owner. Percy Detects Magic - no school but I know it cannot be used by anyone other than Sorc, Warlock, Druid, or Wiz.

Room with 12 ft model of Ravenloft. Chest in the corner - hidden compartment: nothing. Scale model carved into solid rock. Bell memorizes it.

Upstairs statue room - Dren and sporebie pulled into it temporarily.
- Bell finds secret door - Gale opens it and skulls pour out
- upside down iron chest on the ceiling? Bell senses a trap in the lid.
- secret door in the skull room - ornate furniture, rugs, statues - vrey beautiful and royal, but covered in cobwebs. skelly in robes with glowing red eyes in middle of the room: "do I know you?"
Room next to it - secret staircase going up and down. Dren and I fell in.
secret room - candelabras, black marble bookcases, oriental rugs, a railing of some kind overlooking something? mural on the ceiling: angels being set ablaze in hell

NEXT TIME: Percy talks to dude cause he's got the highest Cha. As soon as anything goes wrong, Bell skitters away (currently in Wild Shaped spider form), Percy Dimension Doors away with Gale, Dren Misty Steps and then uses all his movement to get away.
