at zarovich lake in crocodile form, bell saw a fat man with a blank expression come out of the middle of the lake, climb into a boat, and begin to fish. diving down, he found a burlap sack on the bottom and opened it to find the body of small girl with porcelain-white skin and black hair. the man in the boat said his name was bluto, that he lived in valleki, and the child was "a sacrifice of luck." the child is "from one of them folk with luck." searching the lake - no fish at all, carved wooden doll missing leg and arm, spinning top with 4 faces carved (happy, sad, wrathful, dead)
