The leader of the ancient Order of the Silver Dragon who died defending Barovia. According to Vladimir Horngaard, he was killed by Strahd personally. His mausoleum is at Argynvostholt, but his remains are located inside Ravenloft, as revealed in a letter found inside the decrepit mansion and in Horngaard's diary.

In human form, Argynvost appeared to be a handsome man with long white hair, but his true form was a silver dragon. In life, he referred to himself as the protector of the Balinok Mountains. In death, his spirit haunts the halls of Argynvostholt, in both dragon and human form.

The mysterious poem heard on the roof of Argynvostholt refers to him.
